Dogs in Watercolour and Gouache

Watercolour is a transparent medium in which the white of the paper produces brilliant and translucent effects. Gouache is a thicker type of watercolour which has some of the properties of oil paint. I sometimes use it to produce texture in certain kinds of animal's fur. The two types of paint can also be used together.
These dog portraits were all commissioned in the last two or three years. I particularly like the idea of the doggie by the Rainbow Bridge.
